Tosoh and its Neighbors
Tosoh in Action
Environmental Reports

The environments of the neighborhoods where our customers and neighbors live constitute a critical focus for Tosoh, both as a responsible corporate citizen and as a member of Japan's Responsible Care Council. Communication with our constituents - customers, neighbors, employees, government agencies, and others - has been developed as an integral part of Tosoh's corporate policy. The company and its employees take pride in our efforts to ensure a safe and healthy environment; operations are conducted in accordance to the interests of the community.

For example, in Shin Nanyo City, local authorities and residents have witnessed substantial effort and constant communication from Tosoh, which has successfully carried out its corporate policy and achieved a safe and healthy environment around Tosoh's major manufacturing site, the Nanyo Manufacturing Complex.

Reaching out to local residents and organizations, Tosoh employees have become active participants in local environmental preservation committees and are volunteers in offering services to local communities.

Tosoh plays an important role in working to solve the environmental challenges of local authorities.  Deciding to use Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) went a great way to solving the problem of disposing of the region's solid waste.  Tosoh by using RDF as fuel for its cement plant,  helps the community and the environment. Discarded tires are also currently being used as fuel for the cement plant. Recycling waste efficiently allows Tosoh to contribute to its community, ease the burden on mother Earth as well as preserve natural resources for future generations.
