Tosoh Announces Changes to Its Representative Directors

Tokyo, Japan—Tosoh Corporation announces changes to its Representative Directors as decided during a meeting of its members held the same day, on May 10, 2017.

The decision will be made official at a meeting of the Board of Directors following the conclusion of the Company’s 118th ordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled to be held on June 28, 2017.

Mr. Katsushi Tashiro began his career with Tosoh Corporation in 1981 after graduating from Kyushu University, where he received a Master’s Degree in chemical mechanical engineering.

In 2000, Mr. Tashiro became the manager of Process Technology at the Company’s Nanyo Technology Center Technology department. In 2005, when went on to the Yokkaichi Complex to manage Ethylene operations in Ethylene & Energy Production, eventually becoming the manager of the later. In addition to that, Mr. Tashiro became an associate director of the Company in 2009. At the same time, he was appointed deputy senior general manager of Yokkaichi Complex, where he also managed Planning & Coordination. In 2010, Mr. Tashiro was added to the board of executive managing directors of Nippon Polyurethane Co., Ltd.*

In 2013, Mr. Tashiro, became a director of Tosoh Corporation and, in addition to his roles at Yokkaichi Complex, became the leader of the Company’s Safety Reform & Advancement team. Mr. Tashiro became the senior general manager of Yokkaichi Complex in 2014.

In 2015, Mr. Tashiro was made a managing director of Tosoh Corporation and became the senior general manager of Nanyo Complex, a position which he currently holds.

In 2016, Mr. Tashiro was appointed as a director and executive vice president of Tosoh Corporation.

*Nippon Polyurethane Co., Ltd. merged with Tosoh Corporation on October 1, 2014.
