Environmentally friendly products with superior grinding efficiency.

The pioneering development of high wear resistant YTZ® Grinding Media was a result of combining the excellent technologies of Nikkato Corporation in media manufacture and Tosoh’s zirconia powder production technologies. *YTZ is a trademark of Nikkato Corporation.

YTZ Grinding Media, produced from yttria-stabilized zirconia powder, exhibits high crushing strength and wear resistance. YTZ is produced by Nikkato Corporation, one of Japan's leading ceramic manufacturers and a pioneer in the development of strength-enhanced Zirconia ceramics. YTZ, due to its high density/crushing strength and relative inertness to most non acidic fluids, can be more effectively used in most, if not all, water based processes, especially in high speed agitation mills. YTZ Grinding Media survives the harsh conditions inherent in this type of processing. Compatibility with water based processing, as well as lower media disposal costs due to the YTZ's high wear resistance and thus less frequent need for disposal, make YTZ a friend to the environment. When environmental COSTS are considered, YTZ is the most COST effective media available. In addition to a range of standard sizes (mm) 0.3-25, smaller sizes (mm) 0.2, 0.1, 0.05, and 0.03, are available for finer and nano-particle size reduction requirements.

  • Higher density provides a greater impact force resulting in superior grinding efficiency.
  • Smooth surface, almost perfect roundness/sphericity and narrow size distribution, resulting in higher productivity grinding and dispersion.
  • Produced from high purity materials, has a higher wear resistance which results in minimizing product contamination from media wear.
  • Higher wear resistance results in less frequent media replacement.
  • Provides optimum results when used in wet grinding and dispersing applications, including the processing of highly viscous materials.
  • Resistant to rust and corrosion, and thus compatible with water based processing.
