Tosoh Colors

Tosoh Red should be the dominant color people see in all our communications.

The use of consistent colors on Tosoh communications will help make the group's communications more recognizable to target audiences.

  • Tosoh Colors

Tosoh's official color palette helps Tosoh Group develop materials and content that aligns the look and feel of our branding and visual communications regardless of medium or target audience. Tosoh Group entities should only use the colors provided in the official color palette. Read below for more information about Corporate Colors and Secondary and Complementary Colors.

  • Corporate Colors

The Corporate Colors Tosoh Red, white and black should be the dominant colors audiences (external and internal) see in our communications materials.

Tosoh Red is the only corporate color with specific PANTONE and DIC values for printing companies' reference. For more about color types, please see below.

Secondary and Complementary Colors (see below) should be used in supportive roles in adding flare and accentuation in the form of graphics and visualizations of product data, calls-to-action, and other forms of visual communication.

  • Secondary Colors

Secondary Colors are ideally used in making attractive supportive content so as to acquire and maintain the attention of your audience.

Secondary Colors have been determined to pair well with Tosoh's Corporate Colors and with each other.

In general, it is not recommended to use many different colors simultaneously in one design at except in the case of differently colored bars/lines for graphs and other visual representations of data. Cluttering of colors creates confusion and reduces visibility and dominance of fundamental branding elements like the red of Tosoh's corporate mark.

Sufficient empty white white space and effective use of color helps to keep your audience focused on key content while speaking Tosoh's visual language.

Complementary Colors are ideally used in accentuation whose combined usage should be less than or equal to 5% of the overall design. Content producers are asked to maintain this standard.

Content producers wishing to use Complementary Colors above and beyond the 5% limit must consult with the Tosoh IPR manager in Tosoh International Corporate Development.

    Additional Colors

It is acceptable to modify any existing Complementary Color with an overlaying layer of white (R255 G255 B255; C0 M0 Y0 K0; HEX#FFFFFF) or black (R0 G0 B0; C0 M0 Y0 K100; HEX#000000) with opacity (transparency) of 20%. This will yield a slightly lighter or darker variant of the original Complementary Color. This use should not replace, rather, it should be for the accentuation of, Complementary Colors.

  • About Color Types

Depending on the medium, Tosoh's color palette can be rendered in three ways:

    RGB Colors

Digital publishing and design software often use colors that are designated in RGB or (Red-Green-Blue). These colors are optimal for viewing digital materials.

    Hexadecimal Colors

In HTML and web applications, colors are designated using a six-character combination of alphanumeric characters (where #000000 is black and #ffffff is white) and are generally directly equivalent to RGB colors and are optimal for viewing digital materials.

    CMYK Colors

The four-color model known as CMYK (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black) is to be used for solely printed materials. Unlike hexadecimal colors, CMYK colors are not direct equivalents to RGB or hexadecimal colors. Typical CMYK usage includes business cards, letterheads and other printed assets.

As a rule of thumb, materials whose medium of consumption includes both digital and print should be produced with RGB colors

  • For non-Tosoh named overseas operations
