Corporate Logotype

The corporate logotype is used when indicating the official company or subsidiary name.

    The Basics

The standard corporate logotype is always horizontal.

Corporate logotypes should always be seen together, on the same page or as a unit (See Combination System »), with the corporate mark.

Pages 11-12 of the VIG provide examples of the official Signature System detailing how corporate logotypes and the corporate mark are rendered together on a page.

Logotypes typically do not have an exclusion area that must be kept free of objects. Also, there are no restrictions on what kind of background on which a logotype may or may not be placed. However, when in doubt, the provisions for rendering via the Signature System is the recommended method. Optimum visibility should be pursued in all cases.

  • Subsidiary and Non-English Corporate Logotypes

Below are a few examples of logotypes for Tosoh Group companies and the Tosoh corporate logotype rendered in Japanese and Chinese.

A more comprehensive list of companies with available logotypes can be found on page 10 of the Tosoh VIG. Tosoh is always evolving and since the release of the guidelines there may be companies not yet in the list but whose logotype and other pre-approved artwork is available. Please contact your PR contact for more information.

  • Caution

Should your company require a logotype that has not been created, please do not attempt to create on your own (See Restrictions below). Please ask your PR contact to get in touch with International Corporate Development, Tosoh Corporation, in order to request development of official artwork.

  • Restrictions

Because each corporate logotype has been specially designed, simply typing them or other attempts to mimic the look and feel of a corporate logotype is strictly prohibited. Always use preapproved artwork.

Additionally, if Tosoh Corporation or a subsidiary name is to be used as a part of body text, they are always to be treated in sentence-casing style, i.e. with no full capitalization (e.g. "Lorem ipsum dolor Tosoh Corporation sit amet...").

EXCEPTION: Full capitalization is only allowed if the content in which Tosoh Corporation or a subsidiary name appears is also rendered in full capital letters. E.g. "LOREM IPSUM DOLOR TOSOH CORPORATION SITE AMET..." or as consistency warrants.

When in doubt, ask your resident PR contact for clarification or to get in touch with International Corporate Development.
  • Tosoh Bioscience Logotypes

Tosoh Bioscience is a unified global sub-brand of Tosoh Corporation. It should be represented consistently worldwide, and therefore relevant marketing/communications materials should always show the official "Tosoh Bioscience" logotype, regardless of the marketer. The marketer's legal name may be rendered in such materials as Secondary Information Text using sentence-style casing as per page 19 of the Tosoh VIG.

There is no official logotype artwork for TBL, TBI, TBG, TBS, and as a result, no official combination system for said subsidiaries. The use of any pre-existing artwork (whether sanctioned by International Corporate Development or not) prior to the Tosoh Bioscience brand unification should be curtailed. Any future use must be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by International Corporate Development.
