Fiber optic connectors and precision tools
Advanced ceramics
Tosoh's TZ series of
zirconia powders, produced using the latest
hydrolysis processes and nano-technologies, are known for consistent
high purity and quality. Complete control over materials and production
processes results in Tosoh zirconia that supports optic fiber networks
with higher performing optical connector parts and precision tools.
Consumer and industrial products manufacturing
Sputtering targets
Tosoh’s
sputtering targets are available in a variety of high-purity
metals, metal alloys, cermet and ceramic compositions. Produced at
Tosoh's operating bases in Japan,
United States, Shanghai, and Korea, targets can
be made in all shapes, sizes and purity levels to meet design
specifications. Tosoh’s sputtering targets are used for the production
of semiconductors, photovoltaic cells, magnetic recording media (rigid
disks, rewritable-optical disks), recording heads, thermal print heads,
flat-panel displays and thin-film resistors.
Production of batteries for electronic devices
Electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD)
EMD is used in the production of dry cells and soft ferrites. Produced
in Japan and Greece, Tosoh EMD is critical to the communications
industry, meeting the most demanding requirements of manufacturers
throughout the world. Tosoh has the largest battery-grade EMD capacity
in the world.
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries
Electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD)
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are expected to become mainstream in
electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and other eco-vehicles. The lithium
manganese oxide (LMO) used for their cathodes demonstrates superb safety
because of its stable chemical structure. EMD is one of the raw
materials used in producing LMO.
