Rinkagaku Kogyo Granted Food Additive GMP Accreditation and Undertakes Plant Renovation

Tokyo—Tosoh Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary Rinkagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd.,is pleased to announce its accreditation for food additives good manufacturing practice (GMP) by the Japan Food Additives Association (JAFA). JAFA recently assessed Rinkagaku Kogyo’s manufacturing and quality control management and found that it met JAFA’s voluntary GMP standards. On March 28, 2013, JAFA registered Rinkagaku Kogyo as a JAFA food additives GMP accredited company. Rinkagaku Kogyo is using the occasion to further the safety and quality of its food additives by renovating its plant.

Rinkagaku Kogyo’s plant renovation extends from March through July 2013 and focuses on key areas of its food additive product production. The company is in particular strengthening its sanitation management by completely renovating the plant’s product packaging line. It also is making the plant’s manufacturing line airtight to ensure that it is contamination proof.

Rinkagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., has its head office and plant in Imizu, Toyama Prefecture. The company was established in November 1926, has paid-in capital of ¥120 million, and is 100% owned by Tosoh Corporation. Rinkagaku Kogyo specializes in the manufacture and sale of phosphorus products and produces a range of sodium and potassium salts for use as food additives.
